The study confirms the advantages of geothermics in the malt plant’s energy mix.
This solution cuts the price of heat by roughly 20% (compared with today’s price) and reduces carbon emissions by 11,000 to 13,000 tonnes per annum.
The investments in the works total 10 to 12 million euros (excluding grants).
The malt plant’s target of using at least 60% of renewable energies by 2030 should be achieved with scenario 1 (150 m3/h), but not with scenario 2 (70 m3/h).
Results
A minimum flow rate of 90 m3/h in the Triassic layer is needed to guarantee the 60% renewable energy target desired by the malt plant.
